Dear Music Educator,

Billions of dollars are on their way to the fifty states to be invested in education. The first of these funds was slated for distribution in March 2009. This means that funding is available NOW for continued efforts to provide a music education to every student. Will you receive your share of these funds?

All schools are advised to "FOCUS THESE FUNDS ON SHORT-TERM INVESTMENTS, WITH THE POTENTIAL FOR LONG-TERM BENEFITS." We know music IS a lifetime benefit! Musical instruments (B&O) have an average life span of 15 to 20 years, also a Long-Term Benefit.

Other areas of the federal stimulus package that may be accessed for school musical instrument purchases:

1. School Improvement Grants 3.0 BILLION
2. Qualified Zone Academy Bonds 2.4 BILLION
3. State Fiscal Stabilization Funds 53.6 BILLION

These funds may be utilized for equipment purchases, such as instruments. This is an opportunity to help your music students excel by making your needs known to your school administration. Act now before other departments get there ahead of you!

4. Make your case in the need for replacement and/or additional instruments.

5. Contact your purchasing agent and/or your administration.
