Asa,
I made it back fine leaving from Midway in the morning on Saturday but my girls wanted to stay and shop a bit, so they were scheduled to leave O'hare around 2:00PM. They ended up staying the night with no hotel in St. Louis and made it home Sunday evening very late (and not really in the Christmas Spirit, I might add). The moral of the story:
Midwest is great, bring your family, fly from Midway.
Hey Asa!
Great to see you at Midwest, in the elevator of all places! Small world. Hope your travels home were less eventful than ours. We are still stuck in St. Louis and don't expect to be home until late SUNDAY. 17 flight delays, 6 $12 sandwiches and a couple of sudoku books later we finally were redirected to St. Louis. Airline did not pay for accommodations, sleeping in airport, bags are already in Orlando! Fun Fun Fun.
Hey, we were given lemons and made lemonade this year at Midwest. No big deal, we had a blast! What do you say we get those Duval middle school band directors together in a "group" and let your district person facilitate like we do in Osceola County? If you create the group yourself, you can turn over administration to whomever you like, whenever you like. It is a powerful communication tool and the district "big brother" people can not scrutinize your private communications as much. If we are to move forward in the 20th century as educators, we need to be networked.

How you all holding up there in Duval County? Any cuts in the arts programs?
