Hey...firstly I must have done something right cause they unblocked this at school! I am curious about what technology you are using in your classroom. This week, I created a video for my class and plan to do another this summer when I have time. I know many of you use SmartMusic. Is there anything out there that works great that we should know about? Share :)
I've enjoyed trying to implement some of the rhythm exercises into my warm up routine. You may need a projector and screen for this one, though... Also the scales are also pretty good but I haven't quite figured out how to use those without a scale sheet in front of them as of yet...And the use of SmartMusic for concert pieces are awesome tools too. On a daily basis I used SM to play the exercises for my beginners while they practiced their fingerings, then play along with the melody, then with just the accompaniment.
I did a powerpoint with narration and imported some united streaming videos on a lesson. It is the perfect way to go for a subplan. Create worksheets based on the information you give, and all the substitute has to do is pass them out and pull up powerpoint on the computer.
I created a WebQuest to do with my kiddos this year. It was pretty easy to put together and they enjoyed doing it. It was something different for them. I kicked it off by discussing 20th century composers and the WebQuest was on Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf.
