As the year is coming quickly to an end, I think it would be great to see what different folks all over the country are playing for their "recruiting" concerts and also "lighter" literature being performed on spring concerts. I usually try to do a more "pops/movie/broadway" type concert in the spring after working so hard on concert festival. It would be really helpful to have titles/composers/arrangers and publishers listed for the tunes for easier access. It might also be nice to guess the grade level the music is on.
There are many great arrangements of "lighter" music out there, so what are you playing this year and/or what are some of your all time favorites?
Here are a few that I have done in the past that seem to work nicely and are good arrangements. I only have first and second year players, so my tunes won't go much harder than 2+

I usually try to relate to current events.... for instance... the new Harry Potter is coming out this summer and we are doing highlights from the Soundtrack! The kids LOVE it and they might even pay attention to the score now when they go see it in theaters. So, that in itself is an accomplishment!
